I sent my father remains to Cobb's. Once he found I wanted a cremation instead of a burial he became rude & very short with me. He refused to release the body to a crematorium, saying I owed him for an embalming I did not ask or sign for. Illegal too from my understanding. My father's sister signed for it according to Cobb though I am next of kin. Then Cobb proceeded to bury my father without my permission saying two people called alleging to be my siblings. He didn't get their signatures either from my understanding. After a probate judge declared me next of kin (Cobb was actually present) he has done nothing to help reverse what he's done. Instead, Mr Cobb said "this is why I have insurance". This man is an insult to his profession. My grief means nothing- only profit matters to Roosevelt Cobb. I'm still in the process of trying to exhume my father & cremate his remains. I live two hours away but Cobb made sure my father's sisters can visit his grave easily. Those alleged siblings? Never been to Indiana. Ever.
While on my way to pick up my family from school, an usher came to tell us to drive past since the service was blocking the path. When we got past, a pig of a police officer came and yelled that what we did was disrespectful and illegal. We tried to explain what had happened, but he continued to shout and my young siblings. He was very disrespectful and should be suspended for not protecting and serving like a police officer was told to do. The entire place was unprofessional and I implore you to stay away from this place.
My sister and my mother passed away 18 days apart. It was a very difficult time made easier by the kindness and professional service given to us by Mr. Cobb and every staff member that we came in contact. There were a few hiccups that I didn't know how to get to or even fix and Mr. Cobb not only told me "not to stress about it" but made sure that EVERY detail was covered and that I had an answer to questions that I didn't know WHERE to begin to look. Our family invited his staff BOTH TIMES to come back to the church and have lunch with us and THEY DID IT! It was a "personal touch" that warmed our hearts and they STILL remain in contact with us. They are not just a business but they are now a part of our family. We thank them and we, The Gary Family of Michiana HIGHLY recommend them to you for pre-need or time of need services. God bless you Mr. Roosevelt Cobb and staff.
