My experience was horrible the second time around. I purchased a home in 2011 and used Horizon Bank to get my mortgage. Everything went great and I got my approval in just a few days!(That's the reason I give this bank 2 stars and not 1) Years later after I sold my home (2014) I went back but to a different mortgage lender because we were moving to a different town. I made more money now, had better credit and had over 20% to put down on a home that I wanted. But I was denied!? The mortgage lender told us he didn't even send our information down to the underwriter because he knew it wouldn't be approved. I was appalled at the attitude we received from him and the service we were given. Needless to say I went elsewhere and everything was fine. I will never bank with the institution or use them for mortgage lending ever again. 1st Source, or PNC will have my business.
