I spoke to owner that there was a mistake in our reservation, the charge was $783 for 3 nights. The owner tells me he can only give me a $200 discount and wants $583 for a stay I did not have. I called the Motel 6 headquarters, the owner will not do what the headquarters recommends he does as a business owner. He tells me he had to pay taxes and fees to Motel 6, but he'd get that all back if he'd credit my account. The Better Business Bureau says he has the right to charge for 1 night with taxes which would be about $100. So, I'm having to go to the Attorney Generals office to fight for my back. This is a prime example of greed. He will lose much more business with his poor decision!
You can be sure that I will take every opportunity to tell people. I realize the false claim that I could cancel was made by the booking agent and I will warn people about them as well. However you need to take responsibility as well. They are your business partners.
The first day of our vacation was ruined by this nonsense.
Very minimal hotel for a great price, clean, attentive staff, everything you need from a hotel with no frills and a price to match. Must bring your own toiletries, they only provide bar soap. Mini fridge in room. No iron or ironing board.
There were pubes all over the bed and floor from previous guests. This man kept walking into my room at 10am when i had booked several nights for “housekeeping” purposes.. mind you, I was naked. He continued to come in without knocking.. it wasn’t even time for check out. Honestly just not a good place especially if you like to sleep in or have sex
I booked only because I was assured that if I found something better I could cancel up to the day of arrival. When I found something twice as good for half the price I contacted the booking company and was told it was cancelled. When I got no confirmation I called again and was told there could be no cancellation, that I would have to pay whether or not I went there. That gentleman told me to call your motel to ask for an exception and I was told by your person at the desk there was nothing they could do.
The other motel allowed me to cancel with no fee so although I would far rather gone there, I went to your place. That room was the silliest thing I've seen in years. Small, no place to put anything.
I walked into the rooms to check them out first. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, and no weird smells. My family and pet had a good stay. I have since shared with others that this is a good clean safe place to stay in South Bend. The price was high, but it was a holiday weekend and home foot ball game weekend. Thanks
