I am a previous guest of the old Motel 6 and I am impressed with the improvements made.
I stayed there because it was cheaper than anyplace else I could find. I definitely got what I paid for. I can tell that they are in the process of renovating because the bathroom looked all new. However, the carpet and the rest of the room was very much in need of being thrown out and replaced. It was kinda grungy.
They also offer weekly rates.
It was clean Ann's they were hospitable. The location was good there was fast food and dine in restaurants very close.
For being the cheapest place in town, you know you're going to make compromises. On the plus side, there was hot water, towels in the bathroom, and neither my room nor my car were broken into in my four night stay. On the down side, the room wreaked of smoke, so much so I went to Best Buy and dropped $100 on an air filter to pull the dust and some of the smell from the air. After running for three days straight, I was still hit with a wall of smoke stench when I came back in the evening. The carpet was stained with who-knows-what, the mattress was likely as old as I am, and cost little more than a night's stay at this establishment. There were two televisions; the new-ish LCD, and the old CRT that was bolted to the desk that no one bothered to remove. Sure, there was a fridge and a microwave in the room, but I didn't need them and cant comment on them. In retrospect, if it was a little warmer at night, and a little earlier in the year, I would have driven a few miles out of town and found a place to camp. At least that way, I could have had some fresh air. The ONLY reason I chose this establishment is because we have a company policy that states if you want your own room when working on the road, you have to pay for it yourself, otherwise you room with a co-worker. Wanting time and space to myself in the evening, I foolishly chose the cheapest option available in an effort to save a little money. Needless to say, I wont be making this mistake again.
Again, I have to outline the bargain rate compared to other nearby hotels.
Best deal in town on rooms!
Highly recommend this as a great budget hotel.
The place was a dump. The building was falling apart. There entire motel smelled like weed and cigarette smoke. The door to our room was falling apart and the locks didn't work. Our room was infested with bugs and was filthy with dirt and grime covering every surface. After the first night we asked for a refund and were told that they had to talk to a manager and there was no way to contact them until the next day. We were instructed to call at 1100 and after doing so, we were told that a refund was impossible unless we were there in person. After calling the corporate office to file a complaint we were told we would receive a call within 72 hours about the refund. This never happened. Overall our experience here was terrible. We felt unsafe, unclean, and unwelcome. Stay away if at all possible.
My boyfriend's dad has a weekly rate there and has been very happy.
Updated bathrooms, flat screen tvs, free WiFi, comfortable beds and attentive staff.
